FABRIC & FASHION EXTRAVAGANZA, THE MET GALA, AND A CUBA LIBRE

At Wesco Fabrics we love the world of home furnishing fabrics, but for real inspiration there is nothing to compare with creativity of the fashion industry. The "Manus x Machina: Fashion In The Age of Technology" Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was a fashion tour de force! A standout was Kurolina Kurkova in the "Cognitive Dress" designed by Marchesa in collaboration with IBM.

Dolce & Gabbano created this amazing gown worn by Zoe Saldana. Can you imagine the workmanship that went into it?

Beyonce wowed the crowd in Givenchy.

Balmain created this mirrored dress worn by Cindy Crawford.

With all the black, white, & silver, it was great to see saturated colors like this Prada dress worn by Jessica Chastain. Stunning!

Nicole Kidman wears an exotic dress by Alexander McQueen. Beautiful detail and craftsmanship.

Emma Watson combines earth consciousness & fashion with this Calvin Klein dress made from recycled plastic.

Katy Perry wears a rather unusual dress by Prada. Not sure what is going on. Opinions?

Atelier Versace went all out there with this creation for Lady Gaga.

We travel south to Cuba to check out Chanel's Spring Cruise collection fashion show. Grab a cool Cubre libre and let's see the show.

Gisele Bundchen poses on a vintage car in Havana before the show.

Drivers of colorful vintage cars await instructions for transporting Chanel models before the fashion show.

Let the show begin!

Karl Lagerfeld is such a visionary in pushing the brand awareness of Chanel. At 82 he still is the head designer and creative director at Chanel.
