For creatives everywhere, Thanksgiving dinner is the perfect event to combine culinary expertise with haute visual inspiration in decorating the table. It is a wonderful time for a feast of imagination and style.

This is stage 1 (of about 10) of our daughter Lisa's Thanksgiving table design this morning. I can see how her creative brain is working on the table settings. Can't wait to see what she ends up with! Her parties are always unique as she works her eclectic furnishings for high style impact. Her dining table is made from an Edo period Japanese farmhouse door.

Thanksgiving farmhouse chic. Love the oranges and blues.

 Grand old world sophistication.

Follow the pumpkin path to a table of delight. Blankets are optional.

 An intimate table.

I have always been partial to purple whether in fashion or in creative table settings.

 Sweet and rustic.

A table set like a painting, abundant in ivory and mercury glass.

Elevated colored boxes of flowers and plants cascade down on the festive table.

 Blues and greens.

 Rustic and unique.

 Plein air perfection.

A great guide to table setting etiquette.
